Have you ever wondered if Yoga is a religion? It’s a question we get all the time. The answer is no. But the broad system of techniques that we study, called The Eight Limbs of Yoga, does include some ethical and behavioral guidelines from which we use as a common understanding for living with one another.
These guidelines are separated into two groups: 1) things you want to do less of and 2) things you want to do more of. In other words, they are The Do’s and The Don’ts. In Sanskrit, we call them “Yamas and Niyamas”. We’ll tell you more about them in a later post.
For now, think about what these guidelines might include. In pursuit of greatest harmony and personal fulfillment, what should we do less of? and What should we do more of? Share your thoughts in a comment below.
