After a very successful pilot program in August, we have added Senior Yoga to our weekly class schedule on Wednesday from 11-12p (starting week of 9/8). Taught by new staff member, Julie McKune, this class is gentle and easy to follow. Designed with the senior student in mind, each class will include a focus on posture, balance, flexibility of the spine, hips, shoulders, and neck and restorative poses to relax and renew. Students that attend this class regularly will notice improved musculoskeletal flexibility and range of motion and increased strength and resiliency. Additional benefits of practicing yoga include decreased blood pressure, improved immune function and increased respiratory efficiency. Julie brings a special warmth to her teachings. She is currently working on her 500-hour training at Prairie Yoga. She loves to authentically connect with her students and be a witness to their unique journeys.
